About the Homeworks
Homework assignments will account for 15% of your semester grade. Usually homework will be assigned each Friday and due one week later. To encourage creativity and to reduce anxiety about minor mistakes, we shall set the maximum score on each homework assignment to be 80% of the total possible points. That is, 8 correct out of 10 gets the same score as 10 correct out of 10... both receiver 100% of the credit for that homework. Attempting all the problems increases your chance of getting full credit, but you don't have to stress at 2am the night before it is due because you can't figure out the last problem.
Homework assignments are for your benefit. You may obtain help from anyone. When you collaborate, you must acknowledge help from others. There is no penalty for collaboration, but you are expected to turn in your own solutions. Remember, you should become proficient in solving problems yourself because you will take examinations individually.
