Diode Simulation

This simple simulation demonstrates a diode in a circuit using the Large Signal Model.

Enter in a resistance for R2. Then determine the state of the diode. Click "Diode is on" or "Diode is off" to see if you are correct. To try again, enter in a new resistance.

When doing this simulation, keep in mind the conditions for each state:

State Conditions Effects

Off V < V_on No current flow, i_d = 0

On i_d > 0 Current flows, V = V_on

R2 = kOhms
