Lab Policies
- All sections meet in 268 Everitt
Lab. The lab is only open during scheduled laboratory periods and
TA’s office hours. ECE206 and ECE443 share the room. Don’t
work in the room whenever there is an ECE206 lab.
- Go to your assigned lab section only, or get an
official section change from the ECE Department.
- Lab attendance is required at all of your
regularly assigned lab sessions. An unexcused absence is subject to
a 20% penalty of the project.
- Don't be late. The TAs usually give important instruction at the beginning of the lab.
- Students will work in groups of two, or three
when necessary. On the first day of lab you will choose or be
assigned a lab partner. Work with this partner throughout the
semester.
- A station will be assigned to each group for the
semester. Students shall use their assigned station only, and are
responsible for all parts and equipment at that station. Organize
the cables as described on the chalkboard.
- Read through the entire project before coming to
lab. You will likely run out of time if you don’t.
- Students will record the analysis, design,
results, and measured data through the lab activities. It is
strongly recommended each student uses a notebook to keep track of the lab
work.
- Complete the assigned lab work during your
scheduled session. Missing lab requires a valid excuse and must be
arranged in advance. If you miss a lab, you must work with your TA
to find an available time to make up the lab before the next lab begins.
Weekly office hours are the best time to make up missed labs or complete
unfinished labs.
