ECE 559 is a generic course number for graduate courses on advanced topics and new areas of interest in the theory of communication systems, including information theory, coding theory, and communication network theory. It is expected that different offerings of the course will have different syllabi. Thus, subject to some limitations, students can earn additional credit by repeating ECE 559 (with different syllabi) or by registering in multiple sections of ECE 559 in the same semester.

Catalog description : Lectures and discussions related to advanced topics and new areas of interest in the theory of communication systems, including information theory, coding theory, and communication network theory.

Credit : 1 unit.

Prequisites : As specified for each offering by the instructor.
It is expected that each offering will have a 400-level course as a prerequisite or co-requisite.
